Duncan’s going beyond Gold

On 26-28 September, with my colleague Richard Moyle (one of the CONJECT professional services team), I will be riding in the Going Beyond Gold charity fundraising cycle ride organised by our friends at ISG. The objective is raise £15,000, to be shared equally between Chestnut Tree House and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Velodrome, Olympic Park, LondonThe route loops across south-east England, initially following some of the Olympic cycling road race route out of London and taking in the infamous Box Hill climb before heading on to our first night’s stop in West Sussex. Day Two will feature a visit to Chestnut Tree House (we’ll be holding a gold medal awards ceremony with the young residents there), before continuing the ride through Sussex and Kent. We will finish on 28 September at the Olympic Park (home to the iconic velodrome – constructed by ISG) having ridden some 250 miles.

While Richard, a veteran of Iron Man triathlon competitions, is well equipped to tackle this challenge, I hadn’t been on a bike for more than 30 years until earlier this year. Eighty-plus miles a day, therefore, represents a significant challenge.

We would be grateful for any sponsorship support that you might wish to make – via our Virgin Money Giving page (please mention Richard and I when making your donation). Thank you for any support and assistance you can provide to this worthy cause.
